#16426 RIP Marcello Gandini

Nothing to do with HiFi, but if music took physical form he’d be up there with the great composers.

The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

#16428 The Story of Nimbus

Post by shane »

I picked this up from the National Trust 2nd hand book stall at Saltram a while ago. It tells the story of the creation of the Nimbus record label in the mid 70s, and the dedicated and slightly odd people behind it. I’d never realised how much they contributed to the development of CD before.

Fascinating stuff. If anyone wants a read, happy to send it off for the cost of postage.

I'm at Mums, and she has fallen over in the kitchen.

I'm not strong enough to get her up, so I pressed her emergency button and they are now sending a responder to help.

Good luck Phil. You can't be expected to do everything. Make her comfortable and warm. Fingers crossed, the expert help are on their way.
Philosophers have only interpreted the world - the point, however, is to change it. No it isn't ... maybe we should leave it alone for a while.

Thanks Andrew, she is warm and as comfortable as the situation allows.

I hate waiting. :(

The first responder has been, but is unable to do much because because she is not a medic and thinks Mum might have hip damage.

Have rung 999 and now waiting for the next responder, but it won't be an ambulance.

Possible hip problem so she's off to Basildon hospital. Also her cognitive function seems to be diminished, but that may be due to the circumstances. :(

I feel for you (and you Mum) Phil. Very similar happened to my Mum.

I hope she gets prompt care and made comfortable.

All the best.

Thanks to you all. :)

I've just had a phone call from a doctor at the hospital, and they are going to give her hip and head a scan. I probably won't hear any more till tomorrow.
