I thought too much overhead required. High Voltage only happens if it's not loaded properly.

Sorry don't understand.
I only posted it for interest value, not to start an argument about it. Dunno why I did it this way, just fancied it. See if it works. See what happens. If it's pants I'll have to think of something else. I hardly post here these days because I don't seem to have much to contribute any more. Wondering if it's worth posting any more at all in future. Have to have a think about it for the next couple of days.

Didn't think I was arguing, thought I was offering helpful suggestions. But what you do is up to you of course.
Made me think you were looking for something better. My bad.The first board I put together is very simple, a MOSFET with a resistor divider, it works but I'd like a sharper 'knee' at the point where it begins conducting if possible.

Are you down in the dumps Mike ? Very easy to get that way as things are, and will be for a while.
Some of us look forward to your posts, the Bantam saga and Ural rides out can lift one on a grey day.

Seconded mike
The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

And quadsomething.
I don't stick my head above the parapet often but do pop in from time to time and always enjoy Mike's contributions. As Philip has suggested, in these times of impotent frustration with the authoritarian and ultimately ineffective responses made in defence against the wretched virus, it is very easy to become uncharacteristically despondent.
There is no question that we who are able to shed the gloom, even for only an hour or two riding motorcycles, are in a privileged position - did 110 on the Exeter by-pass last week and now feel much better - so bugger the weather, Boris and all the rest, get out there and remember what normality used to be.

An update on my ktm,
Apart from the urge to keep buying extras for it I'm actually doing some mileage on it, close to 700 in a few weeks had another blast to today and opened it up a bit now its run in
Taking it for its 1st service on monday, that's come around quick.
I love riding it, corners like nothing else I've ever ridden

The ktm 790 was a blast, I've loved riding it this last few weeks... so much so I've traded it in for another new ktm.
Had a test drive yesterday on the 890r it's like the 790 but its got more of everything I like about the 790.
The suspension was in another class, engine and power delivery better, top class brakes, got the full electronics caboodle too
Collecting tomorrow all being well.
Because the couldn't supply the heated grips they discounted a pair of heated gloves, with small rechargeable batteries. They are great
And saved a little cash.

Mike's been worryingly quiet, since his last post about being fed up.
