Yes there was something intriguing about the tiny little chain disappearing into that chamfered hole.

Not a British company these days.
I remember when the twist grip gear control first came out and converting my bike to the new method. I only ever had the 3 speed version when I were a lad.

I uninstalled ride with gps, shut the phone down, booted up and and re-installed it. Not a ha'ppeth difference.
Next I wiped the phone so 'efficiently' that I lost my phone contacts too.
Then set the OnePlus Nord afresh installing only Ride with. It works! But do I trust it? Time and rides will tell. Samsung in one pocket, Nord intother....

Philosophers have only interpreted the world - the point, however, is to change it. No it isn't ... maybe we should leave it alone for a while.

Just get yourself a decent dedicated bike computer Mr. I.

I only want an ( accurate) OS looking map with a red line showing how far I've been.

The elemnt in the room you mean, £300 and rising. I only want a map with a line and accurate mileage.

I wasn't suggesting you buy one, just pointing out that bike computers have moved on from the little things we used to have.
Looks like you'll have to get RidewithGPS working to your satisfaction.

What about trying ‘Strava’ as an alternative?andrew Ivimey wrote: ↑Mon Mar 01, 2021 6:46 pm I uninstalled ride with gps, shut the phone down, booted up and and re-installed it. Not a ha'ppeth difference.

I was using something else but, at the time, 'the gang' was using Ride so I changed over.
Does Strava cost? Is it simple as Ride ( and work properly?)
Is it me?
Will it rain tomorrow?
I have 'map my walk' and that is supposed to be versatile but I'm a simple soul who wants everything to be simple.

Map my Walk looks nice, bold and simple. Free with upgrades to pay for if you want them.
I'll give it a go.

I use MapMyWalk for, wait for it, mapping my walks. It works fine for that but not tried it for cycling...
