#1 Rekindled Interest

Post by Cressy Snr »

Hi
Here's the little beastie that has rekindled my interest in vinyl.

Image
A Stanton reissue 890SA DJ cartridge.

Tracks from 2-5 grams :D

Cantilever is built like a brick outhouse and has a fluorescent orange tip to aid cueing in the dark. On the end of said cantilever is a very high quality nude elliptical diamond.

Fitted to an Origin Live option 1 arm on an old Thorens TD150 courtesy of our Ant, it gives a stonkingly good sound.

Bass tight as a gnats chuff, huge soundstage and tracking like a limpet at 3 grams, it kicks serious ass with its 7mV output. Very nice indeed, even into a temporary cheap solid state phono stage.

I'd love to hear it via a proper valve phono (creep creep Nick, Andrew?)

You never know, I might start buying records again

Well I'm sure we can help (says me speaking for Nick).

What's your poison? Or put another way, got any high gm/high mu valves in mind? Or even high mu ones with can turn in mu followers etc. Low Z RIAA and your off.

cheers,

I have a D680EL MkII you are welcome to try as well.

If its any help, I could dust the dust off the wad phono clone I used to use.
