MIG is fairly straightforward; TIG is more complex and tricky to get right.
Our skill levels are (probably) different, so I might not agree with you, or I might. :)

Re: Nothing In Particular

I loved metalwork at school.

I got an O level GCE in the subject, but I can't remember what the test piece was, I think brazing was involved.

My first job, at Marconi, involved workshop training, for which I an eternally grateful. T'was there I increased my basic skills and added gas (oxy ...

I think that brazing and bronze welding often get (incorrectly)lumped together as one.

I do bronze welding at home with oxy/acetylene which is very strong, but I've not brazed since at school in metalwork classes.

Sounds interesting but I'm not sure you'd want a "right wing extremist" in attendance.

Me, I read a book once where the main character liked the odd spliff and so much appeared to improve - marvelous!
That made me laugh.

Re: Nothing In Particular

Although I never had a date for my changeover it has been put back. Date unknown.

They are changing me to full fibre (at no cost), but the speed will not change from my current 75 MBPS. Also ,I requested a phone adaptor but they sent me two, just in case. :)

Re: The Audio-Talk Motorcycling thread.

Ah, my scrambles bike is a TriBSA with an A10 frame and 650 pre-unit Triumph motor. BSA gearbox and Ariel swinging arm. Forks are Norton roadholders with Betor internals.

This is the "heap" that's rusting away, totally unloved in my damp garage, sad to say.

No doubt it will be sold as a ...

Philip - do you still have the Goldie?
Hi Baggo, I've never had a Goldie, you might be thinking of Steve S, although I don't know if he still has it.

Computer passwords.

I recently had a security problem on my main laptop (Windows 10) and I changed my login password to something more secure.

Whilst I was there I also changed the password (different) on my Google (operating system-but not official Chromebooks) laptops and desktops.

My question is, I have several ...

Just out of curiosity Phil, have you been moved from BT to EE?
Not that I know, but I'm led to believe that it's a re-branding exercise, that is mandatory.

Re: Nothing In Particular

Ummmm, you know those 'panic buttons' a lot of senior citizens wear round the house and garden that when they fall and can't get up, they press. An emergency help message flahes outwards and someone turns up to help???

Well, I've a feeling that they don't work ( maybe, didn't work - might be ...

Hi Ray, Greg's post above is an excellent example of how things can go well, despite a pessimistic prediction.

I hope and pray that your treatment has the outcome you desire and deserve. :)
