Re: General health matters.

I was away at Potters last week, but since I came home I have had bad (but not severe) pains in knees and big toe, could be gout ? It has made walking difficult, even indoors.

Must admit I had a few beers whilst away, so that probably didn't help.

Sorry to hear your news Ray, but you seem ...

Re: Nothing In Particular

In days of old on the TV there were short films between gaps in programmes, not the very old intermission films but a bit later and pre colour.

I seem to remember one that showed a toy train going round in a circle whilst the music was wheels by Joe Loss.

Any one else remember ?

MIG is fairly straightforward; TIG is more complex and tricky to get right.
Our skill levels are (probably) different, so I might not agree with you, or I might. :)

Re: Nothing In Particular

I loved metalwork at school.

I got an O level GCE in the subject, but I can't remember what the test piece was, I think brazing was involved.

My first job, at Marconi, involved workshop training, for which I an eternally grateful. T'was there I increased my basic skills and added gas (oxy ...

Re: Nothing In Particular

I think that brazing and bronze welding often get (incorrectly)lumped together as one.

I do bronze welding at home with oxy/acetylene which is very strong, but I've not brazed since at school in metalwork classes.

Re: Nothing In Particular

Although I never had a date for my changeover it has been put back. Date unknown.

They are changing me to full fibre (at no cost), but the speed will not change from my current 75 MBPS. Also ,I requested a phone adaptor but they sent me two, just in case. :)

Ah, my scrambles bike is a TriBSA with an A10 frame and 650 pre-unit Triumph motor. BSA gearbox and Ariel swinging arm. Forks are Norton roadholders with Betor internals.

This is the "heap" that's rusting away, totally unloved in my damp garage, sad to say.

No doubt it will be sold as a ...
