What a faff trying to tax a car as historic, made a mistake by attempting to tax it before April 1st at the local Post Office (the post office should have referred me to wait until the 1st but no they sent the V5C off to the DVLA). The V5C came back from DVLA saying no can do you must wait and a new registration document will follow 'shortly'. 5 weeks later no document, called DVLA they say one hasn't been issued....err I have a letter saying it would be....never mind go to your PO, use a V112 form for MOT exemption and they'll do it for you. Went back to local PO, "your V5C won't scan" its not valid....oh boy. Back on the phone to DVLA, they confirm the V5C is valid and everything is in place to tax it as historic...but...try a different PO...really? OK....Second PO, no problem, the guy knew exactly what to do and bingo the car is now 'historic' and tax free.... :bounce:

@ Neal, FFS ...

Reminds me when I was trying to post something to Phil, her at the counter saying "this is not a valid post code", so I 'phones him, he says "it must be because I've lived here X years and get post delivered". So went back in and told her that, OK second time? Image D-errr...

Nice to see you posting Will...
The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

May start a new thread on the workshop rebuild.

#2 son is a civil engineer and has come up with some ideas.

Area being rebuilt is about 6M x 3M currently is two similar sized rooms. There is a stud wall that'll have to be ripped out too. There is a 3rd room, again about 3M x 3M but that has a solid floor, so will be left alone.

Its the left hand and middle bit of this building:

(#2 son is standing up in the doorway - yes, this photo is from about 2003 - he's now 25...)

So, new electrics, new alarm, new lighting, new ceiling, new floor & joists, new... everything. Opportunity to reconfigure space as the new stud wall can be re-positioned...

Doing it all myself so highly unlikely to have anything for Owston.

Been busy with Visio...
