Re: The Audio-Talk Motorcycling thread.

The typical wavelength bandwidth of the emission is quite narrow ( 20 to 40nm ) so they would be strongly coloured without the colourant in the plastic.
That's what I assumed. The red and blue LED's I use mostly are both encapsulated in clear plastic.

Re: The Audio-Talk Motorcycling thread.

Understood that the colour of LEDs was more intense if they shone through a lens of similar colour.
I cant think why that would be.

Re: Poundland 45

Is it worth adding fuses to each transformer secondary? Maybe, but in the case of Steve's TX failure what would they have done. I have had them fail and create a shorted turn, but that would be caught by a fuse on the primary. You could also off board the power supply into a separate chassis But to...

Re: mystery whine

The problem is that class D amps normally drive both +ve and -ve rails, so you can't just hang a ground on the speaker as one day you will plug a grounded source in and short out half the amps output stage (or you may have done that to get the spark). I would consider hanging a ground wire on the ou...

Also it was suggested that the charging of EVs at home could be restricted to certain times of the day (or night).
We may not appreciate just how broken much of America's power grid seems to be.

Re: Zero emission road vehicles.

Yep I think it was the simple two stroke engines in particular they were trying to get rid of. The stats seem to show that they generate more particulate pollution than the cars in the state.

Nice, (resisting the temptation to suggest it would be the basis of a nice cafe racer).

Re: payg data only sim card

If you find a pre paid and loaded sim like we used to be able to buy, let me know too, as I've been looking for one for my motorhome's wifi instead of having to transfer my phone sim when there's poor reception. Would it just be simpler using the phone in access point mode in those cases rather tha...

Its not, I don't think Kondo make a 833 amp. I could build a chip amp into an electric fire and give the same effect?

Or you could bring one of the Kondo amps Dave, I am sure folk would like to hear that sort of thing.
