DIVERS DIGITAL ADVENTURES

The Bridewell is a small tributary of the Bandon River which flows through West Cork in the South of Ireland. In the last decade herons have reappeared in such numbers on the Bandon itself that they are now spreading to the Bridewell. This photograph of a heron studying the dusk over the Bridewell was taken through the window of my study. The window was not opened because the heron is a shy bird. The moment it sees you looking, it flies away. The lights reflected in the window are therefore serendipidous thought the sharp focus to the engraving on the shades gives a pleasing technical appearance to the shot. Perhaps I'll remove the telecoms wire digitally, perhaps leave it in as a reminder of a snapshot taken as opportunity offered.
