#1 6SN7 grid stopper ?

Does the 6SN7 need grid stopper resistors ?

Not used this particular valve before so not sure.

Well I have probably seen it, but no, not really.

Grid stoppers are just there to stop rf and other high frequency oscillation getting started and messing up the valve doing its job properly, and 6SN7s, being wonderful valves designed for supreme audio just don't do that sort of thing.

Used properly, many would say, they are the best audio valve ever.... but then !!!

But if you were to put a resistor as hard against the grid, as is humanely possible, 100ohmmmmmmmmmmmms to 1K, it ain't gonna do no harm, now, is it.

Have never had to bother IIRC and I've used 'em in various things going way back. Them's usually well behaved them 6SN7's.

I once built a line stage using 6SN7s driving cathode followers. This turned out to be oscillating at about 2.6MHz; I replaced my normal 470R stoppers with (I think) 2.2k - this did the trick.

Cannot remember exactly: possibly something cheap like 6/30 L2, 6BQ7 or 6BZ7 or some other dual triode; I remember I was using EF95s as active loads for the cathode followers so it must have been DC-coupled.
