Thanks for the compliment.
I'll answer your questions in order:
I used plain unveneered 18mm MDF and veneered them during the build. The side panels, base and angled back piece have to be veneered before assembley. Only on the exposed face. So in the case the side panels, the inside face. I also veneered the rear edge of the side panels at this time. Just the curved rear.Did you use veneered board, or did you veneer the lot after building them?
I then assembled and glued up the cabinets remembering to add the internal damping before the second side panel was glued in place. I use biscuit joints to aid assembley and glue up.
Left overnight to allow the glue to dry I then veneer the rest of the exposed unveneered surfaces. In this case the veneer is Ash and took 6 full size leaves approx 380mm wide x 3m long to get matched panels for each speaker.
I bought my CHP70 drivers from Blue Planet Acoustic in Germany http://oaudio.de/.Also, where did you get the drivers (MA) did you buy them direct?
These are the European version of the driver with black chassis and unlike the ones on Mark Audio web site, which have cream coloured chassis to match the cone, and are soley for the Japanese market and to special order.
Hope this helps.
