I've heard Manger's a few times. Decent, but I've never quite shaken the feeling that they're a solution in search of a problem. Despite being capable of going reasonably low, they're not all that happy doing so (i.e. they don't sound so good); so I'd treat them as large[ish], interesting mid-tweeters & hand over to decicated woofers below about 500Hz, so you've got excellent power-handling & dynamic BW, and preserve most of the midrange & HF intact, sans XOs.

not sure if these are new models that your link points at....I believe they were referred to as w04 and w05 models but never having heard any I'm really not sure...

They're good, Nelson's comment in the thread Ed links to is pretty much spot on & you can get some of that dynamic response back by BW limiting them & protecting them from the bass end. I'm not the worlds biggest fan simply because I've never found they offer me more than more conventional units, but a lot of people, when they've heard them, swear by them. Think baby-electrostatic in some ways, and you're on the right lines. Haven't heard any recently though, so I'm not sure about any recent developments.

About the price of a pair of EX4s!
Yes I have a pair and I have done a few sperryments. A chap at Manger UK was really helpful and friendly and would have even built me some cabinets...
So, can't add much more than Scott except I would sound more enthusiastic Full range drivers? No, though I did build a six foot high pair of pyramid shaped thingies (big bro' to the things Ant. uses) and they sounded great (as in rock and roll rather than chamber music) but that made the plates move visibly and that, isn't what should happen! - or maybe it can but I didn't like the look of that!
I have seen a German chap's website and he uses back loaded horns as if they were Lowthers - which is a thought that I haven't gotten round to yet.
Nope, I reckon they can be superb mid and toppers but leave the bass i.e. 200Hz and below to something that likes movement and welly.
Ideal OBs then, when paired with high quality bass units.
Great in a box, (sealed or ported) as Manger does
Fabulously expensive in other enclosures as other manufacturers do.
ethereal and wide sound - ooooooo!
They are in their packing boxes in the shed awaiting my attention but no time, no time!

Yes, you can use Mangers in back-horns, although I'd be more inclined toward something like the attached. Severe BW limit, cut them below 500Hz, pick your favourite 12in or larger woofer with similar efficiency (or a little more, to self-correct for step loss) & you've got yourself a v. nice speaker.
