Many years ago I worked for an American software company in France.

I used to just inwardly scream in despair at the uselessness of the senior management and many of the developers...

In one particularly awful meeting, my co-manager, another Brit (she was brilliant), saw that I was on the point of meltdown with anger and passed me a note, which read:

"It's hard to soar with the eagles when you're surrounded by turkeys"!

Never a truer word was said etc. etc.

I like that!
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.
