I was more interested in the circuit itsself as it looks to be fairly uncomplicated, and having heard how good both the early 300b otl and rays fabulous transcendent based 300b, and the other transcendent otl with the pl509s in it are I though it might be an interesting project to look into

IMO, a ECC83 type valve on the output won't drive hardly anything I'm also not a fan of stacked stages when you can get decent performance with trad circuits. Fer example Mark's phono would be similar gain, much better design and could drive something decently enough.

BUM. I've broken one of my own rules.

I wanted a particular book, and the only place I could find it (at a sensible price) was on Amazon.

So, as a penance, I've got the air fryer out and doing myself a fried lunch. It's tough, but I'll try and get it all down without gagging.

I've found an old Hammond alloy chassis, it's 17" X 10" and having been used for several past projects the top plate is riddled with holes.

To re use it in future I'm just about to order a 500mm X 250mm piece of 2mm 1050 aluminium for a new top plate. The original aluminium was rather thin, so 2mm will make it more rigid.

I'll cut out the existing top , but not sure yet how to attach the new one.

A new chassis 17" x 10" from Rapid is £33.05 on Ebay. Anyway, the aluminium plate came today, and the countersunk torx screws came last week, so another little job to do.

Looks like a gyrator. Lots of examples around...

Mind you, the price is reasonable but the post is a bit steep...
