After a late breakfast consumed sitting outside a cafe in sunny Dolgellau Friday, SWMBO and I cycled the Mawddach Trail to Barmouth and back. This trail using the route of an old rail track following the estuary is a must see. Returning as the sun is beginning to set returns dividends with bird siteings and a beer stop at the George III Hotel with elevated views over the estuary is the icing on the cake.

Tis a good time to be up in N.Wales - sounds great. I spent far too much time on the M62 today, though the last couple of days have been pleasant in the garden at my sister's . Not much cycling though . Actually none !

One of the main reasons I like the early starts is that the riding doesn't eat into the day too much; we got the train down to Plymouth at just after 10am and were on the Cornish coast path by just after noon. We didn't walk as far as we would usually - phew it was hot - but I earned the pint of Cornish Orchard cider I had at the nice waterfront pub! A really nice day out.

I warned Cornwall about your imminent arrival Mr. Bass.

I know that getting up early makes sense if you want a quiet cooler ride, I just don't like getting up early :)

Ta! 'The Cornwall' is used to it, we've been coming down for the past 16 years.

I took advantage of 'DuhIngerluhnd' playing Ballfoots last night and set out to do a Scobswell speedy London Loop. The roads and cyclepaths were beautifully quiet so I went all-out to see how quick I could do it.

Mission accomplished.

Very pleased with that, Dartford to Big Bong/Westminster Bridge in 1Hr 25mins then Westminster Bridge back to Dartford via Q1 south of the Thames (about a mile longer) even quicker in 1Hr 23mins.

Home -> Big Ben -> Home in less than 3 hours pedaling time. Legs and shoulders ache a bit today but boy oh boy it was fun and worth it.
