Yes condolences Nick. A difficult time made even more so under the circumstances I imagine.

Sad times.

Photo for Stephen of the compost. Closest is the current stuff from the last two or three months, then the stuff from winter and last autumn, then the summer and spring I'd guess, and finally the year before probably. The stuff at the end is lovely, could eat it on toast. The stuff next to it is very similar but a bit stick-y.

Yes, best wishes and more.
My stepmother shuffled off this mortal coil just before the shutdown...The Royal Berks' first. I'd arranged a very complicated way of getting my Dad to the funeral but no, it was not allowed. The three step sisters managed to get to the funeral and that felt right and proper to me.. Me and my Dad will catch up with step-mother later - the sun can still shine.
Compost eh! I've been doing that and painting the fence, garnishing window frames, dreaming about a new bike, and with Anna when not planting flowers we've 'spring cleaned' - that's a first in this very unusual year.

So sorry to hear that, Nick. Always a hard thing to deal with, and all the more so at the moment.
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Thanks. She had a very good innings and we'd been expecting this for a while.
Bit of a nightmare to sort things out, but all will be ok.
I tend to use projects as a distraction. Probably some decent bike rides too.

ooooooooh, look at that. And very smart bins with dividers and front slot in things and everything. Daughter mulched the rhubarb with compost today.simon wrote: ↑Tue May 05, 2020 6:25 pm Photo for Stephen of the compost. This is my first time in the garden for any length of time. I'm usually brought in for destruction and then go away again (but now digging). 5th skip now full.

We don't have any quiet corners really so everywhere has to be reasonably presentable - the composting is in the front garden.
5 skips is a great effort! Are you digging your way home?
