I would say as it's closed and none of us can travel; that it's not happening Phil.
We will see if the pub is still in business for next year..

Finding a suitable venue with accommodation nearby has always been the stumbling block.

Well, we could look again... How much was the room hire and how much was the hotel...

Owston Hotel is shut for the forseeable. If as and when movement restrictions are lifted, won't be everything all at once, it's all over folks you can go back to normal, most probably will start with getting people back to work and the schools open, but pubs and cafes will still be shut unless can do outside seating, that kind of thing. I'm guessing mind you.

Of course, social distancing at a diy valve builders event might be the safety feature we always wanted but never actually achieved😉

The people who turn up once in a while with some excessively loud and screeching system, which sounds better if you stand outside but horrible wherever you stand if you’re used to delicate low power se valve amps. Those guys stimulate social distancing.

Just a quick off topic one. We have an old lady up here looks 80, she invades you’re 2m blatantly, walks right into youre personal space, right inside the standard British acceptable personal space.

It’s her I care about I’ve had the virus very bad but came through so I’m not phased any longer and I distance for the other people’s sake not mine.

This time next Friday I'd normally be on my way to Owston.

We could do a "virtual" online Owston fest on the forum. :?:

E.g. list which 3 tracks you want to play, and on what gear.

When a track is sounding particularly good, I think I should add it to my possible Owsters playlist.

If it wasn't for this lockdwn, I'd probably not have the amps I've built these last few months... So I'd have been bringing the Px25 and a 2030 chip amp..
As it is I would have brought the 1.1 watt p650 based amp and the mofo.. and I would be scrabbling around to get the mofo looking respectable this week..

Agree with Steve.. I would not have finished lots of stuff if it wasn’t for lockdown. Even though I am working all week from home.... I have managed to get lots finished. For example the “proper” front panel for the Nadja Preamp 7 years after building it...

Yes, I wouldn’t have had the Super Rocky, if it hadn’t been for the lockdown.
So for the virtual Owston, I have the Super Rocky with the Tangent CD player, the Fane, Full-Range speakers.

I’ll be playing Holly Cole, Eleanor Mc’Avoy, and Patricia Barber. Complex music will not be allowed near the system.
