If someone has a floor plan, we can calculate the standing waves and maybe get some idea about what is going on - before someone actually gets a chance to measure.

I like Nicks "drive the room" analogy. My experience is that there are positions where the speaker drives the room and others where the room drives the speakers. Considering that below 200 Hz the room can account for +- 20dB in frequency response peaks and dips, this thread sure has more than just "geek" justification.

Months ago, still waiting for the repair outfit who did the original job to turn up.

Phil this is audiotalk, there is more life in a morgue!

The basement has dried out apart from 1 spot in the corner, the people who did the original job are very busy it seems and have raised a job card but have yet to call to look at the problem. Once they have done the work the floor can go back down which is a days job.

I have a myriad of new gear I want to play with and no where to play with it! Most frustrating but I have no other choice than to wait!

Thanks for asking everyone.

Would you prefer if I stared some pointless one (2, 3) words a day thread?

Yeah, not sure I got that either. Plenty of life here.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to things being up and running there - it sounds like an excellent venue for a meet-up.

Brook Street is no more or won't be soon as we have decided to move.

News of where and when sometime soon.
