#1 Food complaints ?

Post by pre65 »

I had a Cornish pasty for lunch today, and the filling contained a piece of plastic film, which I did not notice till I started chewing on it.

Where best to complain ?

The supplier (Aldi) or local council ?

Pre

Write a letter to Aldi or best still phone them, they should be quite concerned about your case.

Need evidence. Lots of it. The wrapper (for batch number), the receipt (proof of purchase).

Time & date. Preferably a sample of said pasty (freeze it)

The initial response from Aldi is to replace the item, or give me a refund, all of £1.49.

I'm a bit underwhelmed.

I suspect, in the scheme of things in mass food production, a bit of plastic is the least of our worries. :-(

A propos nothing in particular, 20 odd years ago I had a piece of insulated wire, twin and earth type stuff, in a bakewell. I sent a letter to the bakery, as much so they knew they might have a production problem. I didn't have much evidence and they sent me a £5 voucher. In the scheme of life being too short I didn't bother pushing it any further.

About 10 years later the molar I'd chomped down on the wire with cracked and I needed crown. The £5 voucher didn't seem quite so good then...
