Hi ILPS,

Check out the Viv Stanshall ‘Radio Flashes’ embedded within John’s perfumed files. They were originally from BBC 1971 but episode 1 was deleted by the beeb so we are left with episodes 2,3 & 4.

Great Googly moogly.

Will be sure to, Ed - spotted those also a short while ago.
Just been listening to more of that programme, so great to hear it as it was happening in 1968. John enthuses about Love's track 'A House is not a motel' and says Forever Changes 'could be the greatest album out of the US this year'.

Hi Mark,

Can’t remember if there is a equivalent blog etc of old Top Gear and other groovy radio from ‘60’s early ‘70’s - must check through old bookmarks and check out all the cassettes I downloaded onto over the past few years.

Saw Arthur Lee twice in Bristol with his backing band Baby Lemonade, the first was a smaller intimate venue better than the Colston Hall (but it had to be due to using a string section).

That would have been great to see.

The first tape is amazing, just listening to this now -

Here John ( aged 22 ) is playing American southern blues to the Dallas audience. The first Lightning Hopkins track was sold out of '77 records' from 77 Charing Cross Road.....

Right on ILPS,

The people who run the perfumed blog keep updating it and thanks to you I have been reminded to check back at their work.

There are other links elsewhere (not the Perfume files) and stuff to Viv’s BBC Rawlinson End works. Fantastic and a good anti freeze to all that warm teeth on Strictly Personal Dumping.

Sure thing Uncle Meat - much need for antidotes right now.
Just listening to 'The Hedgehog's Song' - easy to forget how great the ISB were.
I will run through a couple more of the John tapes, then dip into one of the Viv selections .
