The supply to our house comes from overhead cables running up the road. Originally thes had five individual cables (three phases, return and earth, at a guess) which to my know certain knowledge haven’t been touched since 1963, and probably date back to when electricity first came to the village in the late 30s. I noticed over the last few years that the insulation beading has been falling off, the birds love it for nesting. Recently, span by span Western Power have been replacing it with twisted four-way cable. I found an off cut and was surprised that the conductors are aluminium and the insulation appears to be polythene. Weighs nothing!
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Very interesting - mostly pretty high - so it looks like it's only Dave and Andrew who are weird ?
I suppose the only ones I'm missing, which are relevant to me visiting, are Owston and Colin's. Hmm... obviously not long before Owston can be checked. I'll ping Colin an email.
Thanks all :D

Owston's the other side of Donny from me, but I've just checked and it's 250V.

I haven't checked mains AC for a good while but it was always around 243V I seem to recall, but that would have been in the evening when there's probably greater demand.
