The 845's are now at home, I'll be attending on Sunday.
I'd really like to hear these hooked up to a few different speakers.

The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

Hi Guys.
Newbie here (posted an intro in Jan 2017 - oops), just wondering if

- there are any places at Owston for the Sunday still available?
- what times does it start please?
- is it ticket in advance or just bring cash on the day etc?

Had a great couple of years building custom Lenco's and then an SP10, various Lenco meets and Scalford / Kegworth. Looks like the Hi Fi sell off to help fund the forthcoming house purchase, means that some DIY Hi Fi may be necessary for a while then!

Have heard that Owston is a fun day and good place to find out about it!
Cheers.

Hi gents,

I've just found out that I won't be able to make this - a relative is turning 90 soon, and the Sunday is the day we'll be celebrating.

Sorry about that - was really looking forward to this one as it's shaping up to be a good one.

Hi Keith
If you arrive at the venue for 9.00-10.00ish am, you wont have missed much.
You'll need a bit of money for lunch, and a small donation to cover the cost of venue is the usual method.
There should be something to hear in use or hear of, that might get your attention.
Plenty of demonstrations are well remembered from my first visit.

The 845's are coming with me.
I've been using them on my KLS 3 based speakers, and they sound great, Vocals, Highs, Mids, Bass, all are very appealing to the ear. I've had a full Day of CD replay on Saturday and today a few hours on vinyl.
I,ve bypassed the Slagle AVC at present, driving the amps by the source, dare I say it, the AVC don't let the Bass through in the capacity the amps allow,
when driven by the source. I'm at present using the amps inbuilt balance controls to adjust volume.
War of the Worlds on vinyl today was a replay that I would recommend to be experienced.
I am intending on hooking them up to the OTA 57's, but don't see this happening before Owston. I might try and squeeze the 57's in the vehicle.
The new experience for me is how the CD Performance did not seem a welcome departure when the vinyl went on.
These amps are presenting the CD in a way that is to me, very revealing but non fatiguing on the ear.
These amps took 15 years to realise, so taking them to Owston after a weeks ownership is a biggy for me.
I rarely get aprehensive, but it has crept in about the audition.

Hi Keith, if you where planning to come on Saturday I would need to know a few days before hand as there is a buffet organised, but Sunday is much more of a layed back day. Tea/ coffee and shares towards the room hire will work out at around £10 (Sunday)
As John said, start time on the Sunday is around 9.30 to 10.00 and if you can please bring a system.... it's good to compare what you've got, with what you might fancy making ?

Just post to confirm you coming and I'll add you to the list.
If you where to come on the Saturday I need to know by tues morning for the buffet numbers
Thanks Steve

I'm confirmed for Friday night and Saturday now. :D

Booking .com had 5 rooms left after I booked mine.

Who is going to be there for the Friday evening seminar (talking bollocks session) ?

Being an old git I get free train travel across London and as I have found a cheap train at train line means I can get there and back in a day for £32.00, and no driving (just done 11 hours total for the show this weekend, and I currently hate my car) petrol would be at least £100, so I am coming Saturday, will bring what fits in back pack, probably just cables and my cheap Chinese DAC, maybe miniBMU as well if anyone wants to hear it..

It means I have to get from Adwick Station to the show venue, can you confirm the location as it is not in the hotel / hall I think. Also is there a taxi hut at the station to get a cab to the venue.
