Good effort .. & not really 'short' .
I dunno if the average power is accurate ? ;
However I got some rather interesting statistics from two rides by guys at work, recently .
First is Steve J.H. who rode the Fred Whitton last weekend.
His time was 7:38 including stops - not bad at age 56 or 57 for a 115 mile route over all of the Lakes' passes :confused3:
Average power was 195W ; Steve weights about 10st.

Meanwhile our resident star, Dan Evans ( Nat Hill-Climb champion twice ) did the Wrexham hilly 32-mile time trial, in April, this goes over the Horseshoe Pass, amongst other things.
Time was 1hr 18, and an average power of 350 watts, this for a guy who weighs about 9.5 stone !

Well I thought that was interesting, anyway.

🤔
I found it interesting! I never trust these interpolated numbers. If I had power pads in my cleats, yes. Otherwise no.

Excellent !
This one I thought also was very interesting. I've said to people at work several times ( bemoaning my current poor fitness ) 'I wish I was as good a climber as the worst sprinter in the Tour de France'. Here's the evidence - just illustrates the gulf between those guys and mere mortals.

We've just returned from a week in Tuscany; stayed at a wonderful agriturismo place about 12miles south of Florence. There was lots of club cycling going on over some beautiful but hard routes - very little of the road is level, you're either going up or coming down - and I would have loved to have done some rides there. Sadly, I didn't have the temptation of the use of a bike but it does mean we're still talking to each other.

I aim to do a short, gentle ride today as the first step towards recovering from the pasta and chianti. Did I mention that the place we stayed is on a small workinging organic vineyard and olive grove; they produce their own chianti and grappa on the premises, which we spent a very pleasant evening tasting. We flew with BA so had enough hold baggage allowance to bring a few bottles back too.

Incidentally Mr Bass, our flight into Heathrow yesterday tracked along the Thames estuary so I guess we passed over your place - didn't see you though so I guess you were in the shed with an oily rag.

? - I remember that sort of think being rather good fuel when I was in the Pyrenees back in 1991 :)

Today I did the full walk from Moel Arthur car park to Moel Fammau and back. Conditions cool and breezy, some short sunny spells. Very clear.
That was 2hrs47 at an average of 131bpm, which is OK since the pulse was a bit lower than last time I did this .
I'm putting this down as a bike ride, because I used four wheels to get to the car park, then zero wheels on the path, for an average of two wheels.

It was excellent fuel, the problem is that I still have over 2lbs of it onboard!

Good work BTW, however, depending on the maths it's entirely possible that you did it on a trike or, even more impressive, a unicycle.

Yeah but no but yeah but, they're 'pro', they earn their living from it so they're going to have to be be very good at it otherwise they'll be broke/hungry. Thats quite an incentive.

Personally, I ride for fun and the fact I like riding bythickles anyway :)

Just a fitness loop this week (right under our-RayP's flight path!).

Oddly, we're in those same mountains now, but walking, not cycling.

Doing the first chunk of the Camino from St Jean Pied de Port to Pamplona.

Up a mountain in a pilgrims' hostel ATM.

After yesterday's excellent Owston day, today I did my penance for all that grub!

Just 25miles but a lot of climbing and loads of segments with PBs.

Not in about 1/2 hour !
I just spent about 2hrs grappling with chain change , cassette swap, cleaning, and searching for parts that kept hiding.
But now I'm in better shape to tackle the hills :

Bike ride on the valley roads, 1 hour 9 mins. Legs a bit wobbly getting off and back into the house, but it was a decent start.

As its supposed to be summer I've taken to doing some longer routes home on the bike.

My office is only 2 miles from home but last evening the commute took me 10 miles and this evening 15 miles.
