Is that sensible as in not a fixie!?

BTW, what's a King Tubby dub, is it like that old kids thing, rubadubdub three men in a tub...

Good ride there Mr. Bass. So much better for you to be out of the shed and into the fresh air; oh wait, you live in...

Good ride from you too Nick.

This morning I just did an easy 16miles as a leg loosener after yesterday' exertions but I think I'll head out in the morning and see if I can make 150miles for the week (currently 120).
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Yep, I advised him NOT to go down the FG/SS route to start off with, his commute is hilly and I wanted to encourage him. Ascension to Fixiedom will come when he's ready, (and realised on his own how superfluous gears are on a bike in London).

An example of Dub from the Augustus Pablo/King Tubby era...

Ta, it was very enjoyable as always. I've nearly finished the current shed project so should be out and about a bit more now.

Just teasing...

Very nice Shed project result Mr. Bass, just a shame about the reflection!

I didn't mention that during my Friday ride I kept on encountering 'vintage' motorcycles, at least a coupe of dozen of them I would guess. Maybe there was some sort of event down here.

Anyway, I bagged 150miles for the week this morning with a 36.5mile jaunt before breakast - out onto the levels before a 1000ft climb at the end. It also took me over 10,000ft of climbing for the week*.

My reward was an extra 25g of muesli when I got home.

*Do not attempt this at home if you've only got a fixie!

Bigger ride for me today ( on hol this week ) . Did something just over 30 miles, time was 2hrs 16 with pulse 142 avg ( max 166 ) .As soon as I got out, it felt like I was stuck to the road with chewing gum ! Partly due to a nagging headwind on the way out, however at least the stamina was OK, I didn't fall apart in the last 1/2 hour. Was hoping for a bit of sun but it stayed grey.
Hopefully next time out I'll feel a bit better. Miles in the bank.

Thats good stuff, well done Whales Division.

I did most of the normal local loop last night, 13.8 miles even though Dirtfud and surrounds were grid-locked due to bonkers traffic from 3 different road traffic accidents.

I don't know about everybody but we don't.

I do make sure all the strands of All-Bran are pointing in the same direction though.

You can do that with a powerful magnet.

Aaah, ok.

So, I borrowed a gigantic ACME branded horseshoe shaped magnet from Tom and Jerry.

This morning we had to eat breakfast off a flippin' big magnet! Blummen messy, the milk kept slipping off because it seems cow juice isn't magnetic.

Pffffffttttt, so much for your top tips Mark :P

I just couldn't resist:

Magnet draw day from dark
Sun zoom spark
Sun zoom spark
Think you can uh hold it
Once it start
I don't care who ya are or what
size ya are
I'm gonna magnetize ya

it's so sad that I get these associations loads of times every day....is there a therapy for this!

Of course !
But don't worry Ed - you're not alone.
Every time I hear Joe Root's name mentioned on the telly, I wonder if he'd make a whistling noise if he was snatched from dry earth.

Interesting article here for those who remember the 'comic' c. late-70's :
http://www.timetriallingforum.co.uk/ind ... ells-bike/
That whole section has a lot of interesting stuff sorted by year, mainly racing and racers, I found it quite absorbing to read.

Yay, this morning I broke the hour record! No, not 'The Hour' record; I rode my regular there and back trip of 19.4 miles in less than 60mins for the first time. That's 13seconds off my previous best time.

Unfortunately the GPS had some aberations along part of the ride and managed to extend the ride to over 20miles so I'm really only using the stats as a stop watch for the known distance - moving time of 59mins 55secs is what matters (editied the distance and calculated average speed below) - I'll uplaod the Cateye 'puter data later and see what that looks like.

Anyway, pleased with that even though it's not that fast is absolute terms - a guy cruised past me on a full-on TT bike at one point, probably doing 3-4mph faster.

Departed: Jun 29, '19, 06:42AM
Starts in: Taunton Deane, England, GB
Distance: 19.4 mi
Elevation: + 700 / - 708 ft
Max Grade: 7.9 %
VAM: 398 Vm/h
Moving Time: 00:59:55
Calories: 698
Avg. Watts: 194
Avg. Speed: 19.45 mph
Max Heartrate: 142 bpm
Min Heartrate: 57 bpm
Avg. Heartrate: 117.7 bpm
