Son did London to Brighton in 4 hours. He's chuffed as it's tricky to go at a decent pace as there are so many other riders...
Swmbo and I did a short 15 miler yesterday - her first outing since bad flu and my first on the bike after it's been serviced.

A friend has given me a Campag Zonda wheelset for the Holdsworth. Unfortunately the rear wheel has an 8 speed cassette and my bike is set up with Shimano 7 at the moment. The lever is indexed on the frame so it definitely wants a 7 speed cassette.
Anybody know if I can get a Campag 7 cassette to a: fit the wheel and b: match my Shimano indexing...
Hark at me talking about all this TDF winning stuff when I would probably fail to get 10 miles in 40 minutes......sometimes it's good to dream.

See if this page helps - if not, look elsewhere on the site - it's a very good resource.

Ed, when we spoke about this at Owston I said I would ask my bike mechanic friend - he's currently away so I've not had an opportunity to follow up - sorry, should have mentioned earlier.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Another spin through the lanes just now, featuring Llangynhafal and a lady riding a bike uphill around the inside of a left hand bend I was descending. Just missed her, thankfully. Is common sense unfashionable these days ?
Lovely evening, anyway, almost cloudless and just the right temperature.
1 hour 17min @ 139 , some steepish (although short) hills on this route.

BTW, riding a bike uphill is knackering, I try and avoid that all the time

Back on the bike today after a month's break... You can see where we got lost a bit about half way round ...

Good effort . I couldn't do that sort of thing after a month's break - not these days.
Talking of hands though, left and right - just been down for my second visit to the new Bodfari 'training facility'.
I wanted to find somewhere to do some very basic bouldering (climbing) training, away from the gaze of other humans.
I had a hunch the old, now dismantled, railway bridge near Pontruffydd Farm would have some good limestone blocks to clamber around on. Proved to be so, see the footpath along the river just east of the farm. This time I took my proper shoes.
Very good training for lifting amplifiers.

Today I met up with Jonnee Starbux (my step son, he's recently got into cycling). He's bought a very nice and sensible hybrid bike by Giant.
He's also into really good music and has fettled-on to it (I'm so proud of him) a class D amp and speaker combo so he can listen to music whilst commuting across London, I don't know where he gets these ideas from.
The journey back home....
