That's a good milestone to achieve Mr B. 8)

No ride this weekend, though the snow has melted very quickly today and the roads are pretty much clear now, if very wet.
Sorry, I couldn't resist!

That is a mind boggling mileage for a push bike

Yes, good effort. However my friend Steve at work ( who is older than me ) did 13,800 miles in 2016. He is a bit mad though. Oh, hang on ....

Been to the gym this evening and had a session on the spin bike, needed to after the weekend's weather. I've now had sub 19min times for my virtual 7miles for the last two visits, which is more than a 10% improvement from when I started. 7miles in 18mins 47secs = a virtual 22.4mph! I'm not going to set the TT world alight but I'm happy with that.

The roads are safe enough now to get some real miles into my legs so I'll look to head out one lunchtime this week.

Oi! :)

I'm back a-Yoga-ering again a few times a week now after lots of change and life-stuff going on. Yoga really seems to help get the stodgy body all limbered-up and flexibubbles again.

Same as you MrP, getting the 'urge' again to clock up some miles again, time for Phicksee Fun.

If you're in the general vicinity sometime we could do another 'two tunnels'...

It's rare for me to head up towards Lundun but if I do I'll look forward to a grand tour.

2 1/2 miles yesterday. Now I'm taking it easy!

I had some muddy fun on Wednesday on my new toy- a 'new-to-me' Halfords mountainy thingy, far too clean so I muddied it up (and me!) ....
I took it round my local tracks and found some very deep puddles....
The mudguards I bought new, they virtually doubled the price of the thing! And they were pathetic to say the least.....

Nice shots - illustrates the problem ! I went out for a walk on my normal paths last weekend and found water & mud a foot deep or snow the same, not a normal March.
I love the one with the snowbank.

Thanks, yes surprising how long the snow lasted here.

That last puddle was about a foot deep and soaked my feet....

I thought the correct technique for going through puddles was to approach at full speed in prone racing postion (with Parka open and flapping behind you) then at the last moment take your feet off the pedals and stick 'em out in front of you whilst saying "weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee" as you bomb through creating a mahooosive V shaped Tsunami on either side of the puddle thus causing localised flooding to to any nearby hamlets and villages.

Thats what I do anyway.

Haha, see that baby that was me.....

But I would have come to a grinding halt and a very sodden end if I'd stopped pedalling for a moment through those small ponds....

I do rather like my Halfords cheapie, it seems to weigh rather a lot, and the front 'forks' are a swizz (one of them is empty!) but the gearing on it is refreshingly low, good for steep hills (and ponds) and I think I'll not be too bothered about scratching or bending the thing, so looking forward to more off road fun....

Here's how I spent my lunchtime today;

It rained most of the way and there was quite a bit of snow on the top of the climb; no time for phots though.
