Okay I've done several teners one of which was 37 miles because it was a beautiful day but who could I share it with...the others, well one was 10ish proper and the other was 20 something. I've been keeping to the river so it doesn't go up but I've found some of the cycle routes aren't exactly smooth- untarmacked business. Nasty.

Cos it so hot now I've had much more mileage on the piano and electric guitar...so what, doobeedoobe do do wha' !

Today was FriWAY,, not Friday.

Because today I cycled on three different 'ways'. I did the 'GreenWAY' from Beckton to the Olympic Park, then rode up to Wathamstow to get to the start of 'QuietWAY 2' that goes from Walthamstow Central down to Clerkenwell. Then I rode down Grays Inn Road then along High Holborn then The Strand then onto Whitehall to cross Westminster Bridge where I could start the final ride on 'QuietWAY 1' which goes from South Bank to Greenwich. It was lovely. 57 miles in total, 4 3/4 hours of pedaling mind, ooofff.

Departed: May 18, '18, 11:03AM
Starts in: Dartford, England, GB
Distance: 57.0 mi
Elevation: + 1817 / - 1817 ft
Max Grade
8.0 %
Avg. Grade

Stopped Time: 01:32:19

Arf! ISWYDT. Yes I did Silent Way too acherlee, these wonderful phieexyed gear bikes make no sound y'see, no clatterin' dérailleurs or click clack freewheels here sir, no sssssirrrrreee.

Wollfrumstun was lovely as always. I was having my Nom Noms when the local 'Aqualung' joined me on the park bench and really did eye girls with bad intent perma-mumbling to himself. Smashed out of his tree on Cider.

The joy! :)

In a change of scene , today I did a bit of the usual flattish stuff, followed by a challenge.
Seeing as how it was a beautiful day, I girded my loins and tackled ....

Check out the the map below - starting from the river crossing in the upper R corner, I came up to Pentre Farm, then briefly right up the main road & immediately left - the minor road that goes up a 1 in 7 ( more like I 1in 5 ) at the start, then up and up, along the South side of the wooded valley, past Llewesog Hall and around the hairpin, left at the crossroads and up to the main crossroads at Prion. It's a gem of a road, although disintegrating in places especially under the trees. The 30x25 gear was employed in several places.
Then I hurtled downhill to Denbigh with a smug grin on my face only affected briefly by a 40mph bumble-bee collision.
A_Hard_Denbighshire_road.JPG
Stats for the ride were 1hr38min @ avg 139 ( due to quite a lot of 140-165 pulse on the final hills ) .

Lovely but what on earth has JM's bluesbreakers got to do with that.

Estonia, otoh, is a lovely FLAT country. And I was reflecting on why EC has given away so many guitars.

I like how all the place names that Mark rides around and through sound like they're from Lord of the Rings or summat :)

Sure thing, but you know at one point, I felt like I don't know where am I gonna turn, and it's a hard road till I die ... but luckily it worked out alright :D

Weather is so nice & warm again today , I'm going to go out again, because I don't want to let a life slip through my fingers !

I think we could all do with some help, Ed . I do find my younger colleagues at work sometimes get a bit confused and annoyed when I insert song lyrics into conversations. I just tell then to get over it - it's all part of growing up !

Just been out for a supplementary spin through the lanes, another 1hr13mins @ 129 bpm. Still nice, warm , bit cloudy. Nothing unusual jumped out from under any bridges on the way back from Llanbedr Dyffryn Clwyd , but there were a fair few flies that think their natural habitat is between a human eyeball and a spectacle lens.

The youngest member of my team is 19. Never mind lyrics, he'd never even heard of Live Aid... That was quite a blow.

Epic stage on the Giro d'Italia today. Could be one of the all-time great mountain breaks ( Froome ) .
