An alternative is to donate them to a charity/recycler. Down here we have this charity;

http://on-your-bike.org/

Which recycles bikes and does excellent work giving skills and work to people in difficult situations - there must be something similar in your neck of the woods.

Yep, lighter wheels and tyres are definitly noticable.

Anyway, fine cycling weather today, only let down by the wind, so 32 miles this afternoon, sans punctures!

Did a short ride this afternoon, feeling a bit jaded since Friday, but worthwhile. An hour & ten mins approx. Cold wind, had to dress up a bit more. Just one shot, first cut of hay has been done, the hills are changing colour now from the pinks & browns of early Spring to the summer colours.

It was certainly fresh - I was back to leggings, a base layer and long sleeve fleece jersey when I headed out this afternoon - and blowing hard too, hard work riding into the headwind and the bike was a bit twitchy, expecially on a long fast descent off the Blackdowns.

I suppose that's what gave him his svelte 17st figure before he caught the virus !

Today I did a small biathalon, from my house of course, in my local area, no car used.
I rode across the valley, rucksack on back, with pair of trainers and Canon camera.
Rode up the first ( painful ) half of the Llangwyfan road , changed shoes, took bike a few yards up one of the forest paths, then did a ~1 hour loop up through woods to a decent viewpoint over the valley, then back. Saw no people, no police cars ( though I'm sure they were about ) . Nice to get a change of scene.
First shot is blurry, but it is a 'Path through the forest' :

I rode as far as the Sun today!

No, really! Our local canal towpath has a scale model of our Solar System with Pluto, as a tiny sphere, in the middle of town and the Sun is about 11-12 Km away; apparently, each average adult step equates to around 400,000Km. Here's my bike, parked next to the Sun.

It looks surprisingly like a large concrete peach and not at all hot.

Anyway, on my return ride, apart from passing Mercury, Venus et al there were few people but plenty of wildlife around; Kingfishers, Herons and a quite large Pike was visible in the water under one of bridges the canal passes under. I took it steady and enjoyed the nature and tranquility.

Taunton was looking nice bathed in evening sunshine a little earlier; this is from the top of the Blackdown Hills. Interesting tree too!

Some od the locals not observing social distancing in this one;

Not overly impressed with the quality of pictures on my new phone's camera, especially with zoom.

The zoomed picture is just short of pixel count.
Both shots are over-sharpened.
What is the pixel count for the normal non-zoomed picture ?
Weather was stunning today, like you. Swifts suddenly appeared around the house today and were whizzing around while I was sat out at lunchtime.

Hi Mark, I have a Samsung Galaxy A71;

https://www.samsung.com/in/microsite/ga ... 71/#camera

I'll have a look at the camera settings and see if I've inadvertently changed something - just grabbed the snaps when out on the road.

When I went to the garage this morning I noticed the pink bike had another soft tyre - I quickly put the bike on the stand and took the wheel out to fix it but do you think I could find the leak! Eventually, after pumping up the tube more I found that there was a tiny leak from beneath the patch for a previous repair but it stopped as the pressure reduced, which must be why the tyre was very soft and not completely flat.. On the basis of not liking to put patches on top of patches and it is only ever going to get worse I binned the tube and put in a new one. Then I got on with the job I originally went down to do!
