#1 BT Vision

Post by pre65 »

I see that there are several BT Vision + set top boxes for sale locally with built in freeview and a 500GB hard drive.

Do these boxes need any codes from BT to run ?

If not one might be worth £15 to use with my bedroom TV.

The ones I was looking at are the black ones, are the silver ones an earlier model ?

EDIT

Will the PVR work without the ethernet cable connected ? (ie just as a recorder/playback for freeview programmes)

Try Google, :D apparently it's not free so I expect involves a licence and a monthly subscription.

It seems they are next to useless unless you have a proper package from BT.

No wonder they are selling for so little.

I think they belong to BT as my daughter had to send hers back before they stopped charging her the £4 a month rental.

I would leave them alone Philip unless you can get one for next to nothing

I had one with a 320G hard drive when I stopped using it I removed the drive and managed to reformat it to NTFS but lost 100mb

However, I think BT now lock the drive as sky now do as I cant reformat the sky one
