I was young enough only to be able to see the legs!

After looking on comparison sites I managed to get it for under half the AA quote. £200 saved. :D

It does not pay to be loyal with any insurance - always shop around.
Interestingly I did the Go Compare thing at renewal time for the Ural, (they was also used for the first time) just to see, flippin' 'eck only 2 quotes under £500! Really gone up since first time, WTH? Suddenly the renewal price (Bikesure) looked quite reasonable .. Image

Have you tried Adrian Flux Mike ?

And also - this is the "Art Deco Garden" in Boston park today - the brown "stuff" is bare steel left to go rusty. (On purpose.)

I don't know about bare steel, but here's something similar...

Oh dear.

Popped a fuse in the 15W OTL output stage last night.

Cause: not a faulty tube. One too many Tequilas and an AC/DC record turned up a little bit too loud.

Maplins no longer exists so got to go all the way to RS in Nottingham this afternoon for some more fuses, so we can use the amp tonight.

that's just reminded me...I've recently discovered this company, they're closer to me than Maplins was(about 1 mile):

https://www.switchelectronics.co.uk/

I ordered some bits from their website last week and the stuff arrived within 2 days, but I then discovered their trade counter. I'll carry on with RS if I can wait a day, but if I can't then this is the answer.

oh waily...I'm being stalked by a particularly mischeivous gremlin....

last weekI blew up 2 pairs of opamps - not paying attention, my bad
then
cheap chinese dac failed on 1 channel(no great loss as it had headphone amp reverse phase - get what you pay for)
then
new latfet pp amp started oscillating(soon after dac failed - unsure if these are connected)
then
squeezebox failed, 1 channel half volume, identical on spdif out and headphone out.

maybe should go back to bed...in any event I now have to replace the squeezebox, just like I've been saying I would do for the last 4 years....

see, granny was right, don't care was made to care.

I'm thinking a pi3 might be the answer to replacing the squeeze. I have a beaglebone but it's a bit long in the tooth and it doesn't appear to easily support this volumio malarky...

then I have to replace the dac, just like I've been saying I would do for the last few years....

it's all catching up
