I've been using the tsop 4838
https://docs-emea.rs-online.com/webdocs ... e30b9e.pdf
I think
it's a while since I did this project but the only packet I have in the bitbox is one of the above....the actual receiver has no markings so I can't check on the one in the only working unit I have left....
It's all abit academic...they are the same family that you're using so should have the same features, if a different frequency.....I use the apple remote(it's sexy) and it uses nec coding which I find is a lot simpler than the RC5.
really I was just remarking on the curiousity, not the technicality......
as an aside I've just discovered the same thing happens on the freeview box when its in direct sunlight.....

Yep, it just got me thinking. I agree the apple remote is a very useful thing. Especially the id that lets you bind a remote to only work what you want.really I was just remarking on the curiousity, not the technicality......

The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

He's not wrong, you know. It's it N.Wales too, had missed this.Baggy Trousers wrote: ↑Tue May 01, 2018 1:42 am Just discovered why I had to retune t'telly the other day - I gather changes had been made to accommodate a new channel. Just set to record some Laurel and Hardy at 8am tomorrow !

Jean and I took part in a bowls tournament today, what glorious weather.
Each tem played 3 games of 6 ends, we won two and drew one so got to the semi finals but lost out to a better team.
And I won a bottle of Pol Roger extra cuvee de reserve Champagne in the raffle.

On Saturday we took a 'Rover Ticket' trip on the West Somerset Railway, getting off and exploring at a couple of stations. It turned out a long day when the timetable was 'torn-up' after somebody drove their mobility scooter off the platform and onto the tracks at the main station! Here's Foxcote Manor pulling into Blue Anchor station.
and yesterday we took a long stroll up on the Quantock Hills where the bluebell woods are looking amazing;

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Can't complete with bluebells (we don't have them here!), but spent last weekend camping up in the mountains on the border between Fujairah (UAE) and Musandam (Oman) - two hours of stone tracks and mountain paths to get to the top... Inclines up to 45 degrees, road washed away by rain or landslides in parts. There was a sandstorm going on at ground level with visibility down to 100mtrs or less, but as you got higher the air cleared but wind was still insane - we didn't put tents up until late at night as wind dropped a bit, and even then tents were in the wind-shadow of the cars and weighted down with rocks...
Rather weird entrance to the mountain tracks we were going up... On the way up - my one is the green Jeep... Dawn last Saturday @ 5:30 AM looking down off the plateu we were camping on...
