He was only, one day away from her heart.
He saw a welcoming light and stopped to rest for the night.
That buggered everything up.

Absolutely right, certainly did.
In case you're wondering this came from the Nick Risby show, and he said he actually got a map out and was trying to figure it out on there, but gave up.

It's not been the best of Octobers; a week ago we lost Judy's brother in law to pancreatic cancer and, very sadly, last evening we lost Judy's mum.
She was a remarkable lady and had an innings of 97years. As a young mother she lived through the Plymouth blitz. She continued to look after herself in her spotless bungalow until the last couple of weeks. Myeloma took her in the end and, thankfully, very quickly but at least it was peaceful and most of her children were able to be with her. Judy is distraught so today we start to pick up the pieces. Sorry to put this on you but I just needed to say something.

Sorry to hear that, Ray. It’s very easy to say “well, she had a good innings”, but it doesn’t make the loss any easier to bear. Sympathies to both of you.

The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

My condolences to you and your family Ray.

It is not easy losing a parent, no matter how old they may have lived to be.
