Ant, the Silks are great (and on my short list for a new passive attenuator) and you won't go far wrong with a Transcendent kit - they're well thought out, relatively easy builds and my experience of several Rozenblit-based projects (including a couple of his kits) is that they always sound very good. Your old man has built a couple of Transcendent kits as I recall.Ant wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 4:31 pm Anyone built or heard this? Just curious

Looks like circa £300/par for the 1:10/1:20 option plus postage. Fixed ratio ones £225 plus postage.
TD-125/RB250/MC25FL & 'Snail' phono, NAS/SBT with CS4398 DAC, 41MP pre & MoFo Power, still messing with OBs.

The silks do look semi reasonable money if the prices Mike found were for a pair, Im quite happy with the lda ha1 that nick lent me for step up duties, when it has to go back I think I'll be looking at ss step ups rather than transformers, but that's just me preferring ss to TX in this particular application. I was more interested in the circuit itsself as it looks to be fairly uncomplicated, and having heard how good both the early 300b otl and rays fabulous transcendent based 300b, and the other transcendent otl with the pl509s in it are I though it might be an interesting project to look into

Now I've got some space, I'm starting to move things from the dining area (hi-fi project dump area) to the conservatory.
I've just found my old T amp, a TA-2020 from memory, and with a thick dust layer. It'll be interesting to see what it sounds like after many years of hidingness.

It wont have improved but it is remarkable how small cheap cheerful it was. NXT used to make matching cardboard speakers- perfect for the beach... mosquito coast perhaps.

Didn't you have a relation who worked for NXT ?andrew Ivimey wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 1:04 pm It wont have improved but it is remarkable how small cheap cheerful it was. NXT used to make matching cardboard speakers- perfect for the beach... mosquito coast perhaps.
In clearing out the sideboard I've found loads of photos of life with my dear departed Nellie pre 2006. Sad and joyous in equal amounts.

Yes. NXT went bust though, the patents went to Samsung, I believe.

Is it just me or is anyone else being invaded by moths?

It's just you, Mike. With me it's punctures. Also honey bees, a week or two back.
