lenco no 7 came back for some alterations a few weeks ago, namely to fit an uprated bearing. Its one from lencoheaven i think, and is about the same size as a 301 bearing. So is huge compared to the normal one.
as such it required some work. The plinth had to be built up to accommodate it, and completely re veneered and this is the result.

s'abit big as you can see next to a normal one, lenco no 0

Not quite finished yet, it needs finishing wax to the cherry veneer and various bits fixing down ect, took some doing to get it to look right

#10623 19th century monorail

First came across pictures of this when I was a kid, but never knew there was a movie. This could only happen in Ireland!

The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

First coat of render with waterproofing admix on today. Next one tomorrow.

Mayhem late last night when clearing cellar as a box fell over at top of old Victorian steps out of building, causing a 5Ltr tin of very expensive (90 quid) waterproofing paint to roll down and explode...

I managed to salvage about 75% with a dustpan and a slate to sweep it up, but it's going to be a bitch to remove from the brickwork with a pressure washer as... it's waterproof. Doh!

little bit of a diversion.....
my ex wife called and said she'd recently seen once upon a time in hollywood and there was a car ad before the film with a sound track that I wouldn't beleive. She couldn't remember the make of car so I was intrigued enough to set google on the task....

would you beleive it!:

Bwahahahahaha! Awethumne!

Selling cars, we've had...

Nick Drake/Pink Moon for VW.
Hawkwind/Master of the Universe for Ford.

I'm sure there's more, keep 'em coming.

Not cars this time and a pretty crap ad at that, but a slice from a great track...

You have to listen to the whole track to experience the genius that was early Roxy Music;

So, I've been doing some stuff in Abu Dhabi this week, staying at the Anantara Eastern Mangroves hotel. We got chatting to this bloke in the rooftop bar.

He looked very familiar. It was Chad from Red Hot Chilli Peppers. The whole band were staying there. Did a gig last night (not sold out - tickets were still available). Awesome. Lovely guys. Back in the hotel bar until thrown out at 1AM and then worked their way through everyone's minibars. Bed at 04:30. Breakfast meeting at 07:00. Not really functioning properly. Have video of Chad dancing to nice Ukrainian DJ in the rooftop bar but can't upload from my phone...

Leave my number with 'em Nick, I'm available if Flea can't make any of the gigs :)

Found this little chap having a turn in the garden this afternoon;

Apparently its an Elephant Hawk Moth caterpillar. Bit of a bruiser for a caterpillar as you can see by the 10p piece I put next to him.
