Oh. And a 3/8th inch nut and washer.
And a box. A green one.

No Ray, I had not been aware of it.
Model railways really don't do it for me, I prefer the real thing.

Just enjoying ( now the 6th day ) the pleasures of viral tonsillitis. Hope things improve soon, it's a total waste of time when I can ill-afford it.

Some new (PA) amplifiers have arrived. Those of you that were at Steve's - these are better. The very latest in switch-mode digitally-controlled amplifiers. Linear phase processing, clever limiting, basically endless current supply, etc etc.
They won't be officially released for another month, but I've got permission to take them to show & tell type gatherings, so long as no photos end up online.

Yeeech. Think I had that back in 1996. Doc (when I could get to see him) prescribed a course of antibiotic pills altho he said probably won't do much as it's probably viral. I remember spitting in a waste paper bin because it was too painful to swallow.IslandPink wrote: ↑Wed Dec 12, 2018 11:36 am Just enjoying ( now the 6th day ) the pleasures of viral tonsillitis. Spot-on Mike - except for the waste-paper bin - but wherever is handy ! I'm trying to stretch out the doses of ibuprofen so as not to exceed the limits. I didn't get any antibiotics as they don't handy out as many sweeties these days.
Just took a drive down to Ruthin and back, to get out of the house.

Well, I think it very unfair docking me points because it was Ernest Thessiger and not his cousin Wilfred. It wasn't my fault! But in his day, which was a while ago now, he was a well respected actor and a charming conversationalist.IslandPink wrote: ↑Sat Dec 08, 2018 11:16 pmRespect due if it was Wilfred, but could have been Ernest, fewer points !Baggy Trousers wrote: ↑Sat Dec 08, 2018 9:28 pm As a wholly unconnected aside, many years ago, I gave Ernest Thessiger a lift to the South Kensington underground.
But in the hope of gaining plus points, can I mention that when still engaged in aviation, I met Captain Gordon Olley, Chief Pilot of Imperial Airways and the first man to achieve a million miles in the air. If that doesn't cut it, I once provided the piano accompaniment for Peter Walker, an excellent flautist, at a Quad promotion in Cambridge. That was a long time ago too. And if that isn't sufficient, I'll trump you with Guy Fountain!

Ooof ! I'm going to have to re-group now and think hard. Seeing Terry Waite looking for a luggage trolley at LA-X airport isn't going to go too far in this company.
I did enjoy Wilfred Thesiger's book about his desert travels though.
