Nothing In Particular
#9991 Re: Nothing In Particular
So sorry to hear your news Mike.
There was a similar situation with Judy's mum, who you may recall passed away recently at 97. Treatment for her cancer wasn't considered as it would have seen her off just as surely as the cancer did. I hope they can make your uncle comfortable.

Sorry, I couldn't resist!

Thanks, and sure nuff. Will have to try make an effort to make a visit soon; I'm in Boston and he's in Crawley West Sussex, it's not the distance, can get around that, they're not well set up for visitors, as his wife is having carers in 4 times a day and her bed is in what was the downstairs lounge + dining room. She had a stroke some years ago, but never fully recovered, and so is pretty much confined to bed now. Before that she could get around with a walking frame, until she started collapsing that is.

Aaaarrrgh, it’s that time of year when motorists reach for the long forgotten rear fog light switch at the mere hint of mist let alone fog! In a stream of traffic, following each other and yet you can see the car in front not using fog lights what makes you think I won’t be able to see you! Then when the traffic stops let’s still keep the blooming things on and put the brake lights on as well for added effect Blood things should be banned.

Bad news indeed Mike. I sympathise.Mike H wrote: ↑Sun Nov 25, 2018 2:19 pm My bad news:
My uncle has been in and out of the doctor's recenty, and then hospital having scans and tests, because of a "digestive problem".
Got the final diagnosis back, pancreatic cancer. It's pressing on a tube that connects to the liver, thus causing the "digestive problems". They've put a stent in to hold it open for the time being, whatever that will be. Won't operate to try removing cos he's well into his '80's. Will be 89 next month, if my calcs are right.
Meanwhile I have one old mate from work who's just been diagnosed with prostate cancer ( at 58 ) and needs an Op after Christmas.
Then less than a week later an email from my very good friend in London, that he has a high PSA and is undergoing tests for the same thing. He's about the same age.

Yes, been through testing earlier this year with the PSA and the physical examination.

Why do people not use the handbrake? Ever higher placed and super bright brake lights dazzling the driver behind for several minutes in traffic queues. Hard of thinking or bone idle? Such a pain especially when lighting up time falls late afternoon.Neal wrote: ↑Tue Nov 27, 2018 7:39 am Aaaarrrgh, it’s that time of year when motorists reach for the long forgotten rear fog light switch at the mere hint of mist let alone fog! Yup . Get that at the bottom of Denbigh Vale street, slightly downhill. Very annoying.

Not in the least, complex numbers are hugely useful. Nothing like Brexit.
