Have just started a bit of a building project involving the living room, much timber and plasterboard, wallpaper, picture rails, and custom shelving units and cupboards, all built by my good self.
This means the system has had to be dismantled and put away until the works have been completed. :(

It'll be worth it though. The house is an utter shit tip at the moment and is crying out to be refurbished. This is the last chance before old age and decrepitude sets in. :mrgreen:

Me and Ant have been preparing the stairs to be un-open planned.
It was a fad at the end of the 70s to knock through into the stairwell. Stupid idea, but everyone else was doing it and we were young and handy with the sledgehammers and steel beams. All the aunts and uncles who had 1930s 'semis knocked their two downstairs rooms together to make "through lounges" with sliding glass doors (non-toughened lethal shards if you fell through them) Ah the good old days :)

Speakers in the ceiling: another daft idea.

The room is going back to its original Victorian interior: picture rails and the whole shooting match.

Just as well. It would be a bugger taking mugs of coffee upstairs with the trampoline.

We were doing a little research today and quite unexpectedly (and quite unrelated) a link to this image popped up; I think it's quite exceptional, just about the perfect composition and really atmospheric, so I thought I would share it.

I'm tempted to put my hand im my pocket and get a framed copy, available from here;

So did I.

Spent four days there rewiring a mast after a lightning strike off the east coast of Spain. St Emo's fire everywhere and since it was a steel hull, we were very grateful to Mr Faraday and his cage!
