-2 in The Shire. Only light irrelevant powdery snow. The wind is as cutting as a Stanley knife through butter. Anna took me to a garden centre. I drank coffee and dreamed of Gozo (Friday) four more sleeps!

Took the dog for a walk on Mothecombe beach at 9:00 am. Bright sunshine, unblemished blue sky, bright spring day. By mid-day three inches of snow in the garden and visibility down to about 100 yards in the blizzard.
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

As well as a bit of snow, gales in Boston, if you tried cycling here today you'd get blowed off.

Interesting use of words... is this some sort of local specialty offering?

Mr Bass!
As Scobswell has been a little unwell of late I was wondering if he would like a little company.
A guy I work with has recently got himself a new bike and his old one is available completely gratis. Its a proper fixie and has a nice Reynolds 531 frame. It's even in your colour. A little maintenance work could make this into a nice speedy, short ride steed. Some pictures;
If its of interest, even if only for spares, I can store it in my garage until some convenient meeting opprtunity arises.

Phwoaaarr x millyuns!
Gratis and bound-for-the-dump are my kinda must haves. Yes please. If you're ok storing it until about October I could pick up from Bath or surrounds if it helps. We're hoping to get another hols in down that neck of the woods.

No problem Dave, I'll get it home and tuck it up in my garage for safe keeping until we can sort out some sort of handover.
It's already got a name by the way - Capsey - how does that sound to you?
Mr. Capsey is my colleague who is donating the bike and he has a transfer with his name on the top tube - you can see it on one or two of the pictures.

Nice one, cheers Mr Capsey and MrP.
The frame looks like a regular road bike to me thats been converted to Phffffficksey, looks like there were shifters on the down tube and there's a regular rear drop out plus gear cable lugs on the chain stay. Similar to my old beluvved Dawes, Aldous.
Ta for giving Capsey a temporary home, we hope to be down Barf later this year.

Yes, it's a road bike frame that's been converted as you describe - which means you could go all retro and fit gears to it!Dave the bass wrote: ↑Tue Mar 20, 2018 7:05 pm The frame looks like a regular road bike to me thats been converted to Phffffficksey, looks like there were shifters on the down tube and there's a regular rear drop out plus gear cable lugs on the chain stay. If I'm heading up your way in the meantime I'll be in touch.

Yes but bear in mind having two 'fixed' bikes means you have two gears. Unless they're exactly the same.

I’ve resurrected my old cheap Alien eBike....SWIDT!
New battery required and a new rear rack to mount it. Bike still weighs a ton but it’s working again and now I have a choice of bikes once more. I really need the assistance, too many hills around here and my knees are shot....with luck I’ll start to lose a bit of weight!

Only the Sith deal in absolutes.
