I keep coming across him in drumming-related videos on Youtube - very sad.

Very sad news, he was one of my favourite two rock drummers, up there with Ian Paice. Saturday will now be a Rush tribute day, on vinyl, obviously.
RIP Neil.
RIP Neil.

Possibly the greatest drummer ever imo. Always seems to be 10 beats ahead, the last word in precision.
Such a talent only seems to come along once in any generation.

wow...bit strong for an obit Ant....
better than Art Blakey, Buddy Rich, Elvin Jones, John Bonham...??????? I could go on.
there was a you tube vid put up on hifi subjectivist recently that declared no such drummer as 'the best drummer'....
so, not to detract from Neil Peart, who, imo, was right up there!

I have played with drummers like thatAlways seems to be 10 beats ahead,
Whenever an honest man discovers that he's mistaken, he will either cease to be mistaken or he will cease to be honest.

that's some really strong weed man.....could be 2.5 bars ahead of the rest of the band..far out!

Two bars of 5/4, simples.
