I'm not certain these articles are correct in their assertion that the brand was acquired from Gradiente. I thought Terry O'Sullivan of Loricraft bought the brand rights in the early 90's, so Garrard has been a British brand for over 25 years. The article also mentions SME's aquisition of Loricraft so I'd have thought the rights would have been obtained through that transaction - Gradiente shouldn't even be in the picture at this point?
Then again, I'm not a brand rights lawyer (if I was, I'd be able to afford a 501) so what do I know.

I hope Terry gets a good retirement payout from that deal, he deserves it.SME has also acquired West Berkshire-based Loricraft Audio, the only authorised company to service, rebuild and provide manufacturing support for Garrard products since 1997.
