Aww, glad you're enjoying the music Greg. You can maybe even go back further to 'Shamal' by Gong to get a hint of Hadouk too.
Yeah, Shamanimal is a stunner of an album IMO. Gets played a lot here and at work.

interesting.....I've listened a few times now and get the real impression that it's right up there nudging the red........I'd love to share a pint with him(well one each actually) and find out what he means by tone fidelity and dynamic compliance.......I think the range is all there but a tad more on the level and my system wouldn't be able to cope.Nick wrote:"For the sake of instrumental tone fidelity and dynamic compliance, we chose to master this CD lower than usual (an average of -1 to 2 dB/ Enjoy and Appreciate"
Interestingly, given the above, when ripping my copy via EAC, several of the tracks were max at 100%, and they all failed to match the CRC from freedb. I wonder if there has been a remastering and the above quote is no longer the case, and I wonder if the quartet know that?
there are moments of Django and moments of Danny Thompson for me, specially Danse des lupins....I got memories of light flight.....Good stuff, there's moments of Bela Fleck + the Flecktones creeping in when the Banjo wades in. No bad thing IMO.
fabbo album!

Thanks for the 'heads up'.
I don't know about buying it but it is now readily available on Tidal. That'll do me.

You can download the MP3s from Amazon.
It's also on Spotify, so I'd go for that while yer waiting for the actual CD to come out.
Playing it right now, and it sounds rather good.

Ta Greg and Chris, I was hoping to be able to buy a physical copy of it easily but it looks like thats not easy anymore.
I found a website called Qobus that says they sell a Hi Res version of it though. Ooo.

Qobus definitely looks worth a serious search!

I like the new album which is much more laid back than previous releases. Very contrasting with the likes of Baldamore which remains my favourite.
