CV1094, also known as 10E/108 and VT94.

Any use for hi-fi ?

There seems to be another (more common) VT94 which is an octal triode. :? :?

What a cute looking valve! High voltage low power spud amp contender? I might be totally wrong but with the spec'd grid @-2.5V thats saying line-level driven to me.

If i was retired and had an large collection of transformers thats exactly the sort of thing I'd like to play at/with :) I would!

Send me a pair and I'll let you know!!!

Might be fun, may have to treat it like 811a.

So it could be used as a driver to drive another one Sakuma Sam style ?

Interesting about the 2.5v grid.

What happened to the discussions about line level driven amps ?

I just checked my letterbox but the VT94's haven't arrived yet :-)

Same here.

But I am waiting, with forklift at the ready, for four big transformers/chokes from Hammond Canada, and a box of miscellaneous gubbinz from Bluebell. :)

I've offered to help Steptoe redesign his amplifier project which is constrained by the valves and transformers he has to hand.

So, would a CV1094 , with an amplification factor of 45, be any use to drive a single 6Y6-g, or a parallel pair in single ended.

Must admit I have not found any CV1094 curves yet, but I could provide a sample for testing.

Also, does anyone know if L4 large British 4 pin bases/sockets are commercially available ?

We tried the 6Y6-g in place of my Russian KT66, and even with no reconfiguration they sounded nice. :)

How about making your own bases with summat like 4 of these -> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-4mm-Bindin ... 1e8beae2b0

...mounted in a insulated material like that nylon stuff you use?

True DIY!

I was reading some comments Paul made about CV1094 (on the GM70 thread) suggesting that CV1094 might only be happy as an A2 valve.
