Can anyone point me to an authoritative, realistic and true declaration that it is okay to operate EL34s horizontal, diagonal, upside down, at 33.7degrees north etc, in the long term aswell as the boringly conventional vertical, please????
I appreciate these are not delicate DHTs but even so, on their sides for 12 years - is this possible?

my lad has my old pye mozart.. he has been known to leave it on for days..
its got the original early 60's valves in it... when i bought it the full amp had an even layer of dust/dirt/grease all over it deep inside an old radiogram..
the valves are on their side and quite enclosed

Yep it's like the Kama Sutra
Can tend to run quite hot though IMHO so I'd wanna make sure they get some air
Actually, probs shouldn't have one above another, as the top one will get a load of hot air

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
