What I will say though.

If I need any more DHT filament supplies (apart from 833a Wink) they would be of Mikes type. Laughing
But if thats based on no direct comparison to any other type?

gpwm....that leads to a very obvious question

I perceive Mikes DIY supply to be at least equal to my Tentlab modules, but as stated I have not done a comparison. On PT15 I thought there was a definite improvement, but that was over a simple current regulated supply.

I already have some 18V transformers and 62mh chokes as in my first attempt so there is a cost benefit to be taken into account.

So, for me, that is my personal opinion.

My powers to hear, and describe audio changes/differences are severely limited, so sometimes I just prefer a certain thing without being able to say exactly why. That's just me I'm afraid. :?

So obvious that I can't think what it is.

No of course not, I was just making the point that your reply could have been interpreted as a reply to the previous question of Ian's. Clearly it wasn't because you had not made the comparison. (as you said).

If Mike want's to loan me one I can measure it, if he likes?

I have a spectrum analyser that's AC coupled and can easily compare to a LM317 current source I use on my 300B.

cheers,

All I got is 1 prototype which I'm using. Tho think we mean compare it against a tentlab et al, so which will also have to be measured :?:

Appendix ~ although it's not just a case of supply noise filtering, it's also the AC impedance across the filament that prevents (or lessens as the case may be) "loss of signal current from the filament". How you go about measuring that I'm not quite sure

Can do that too, or I could bring kit to Owston? And we could do it after it gets quieter, later in the evening? Assuming the dates work etc.

The ones I'm using on PT15 are separate to the amp itself and connected with jumper leads, so not too difficult to connect up to another amp.

Remind me the week before Owston and I will get it set up.

There's an offer you can't refuse. :D

I guess what you're looking for then is AC across the filament, including when moosik is going through.

If the test piece had 4mm sockets connected to the filaments then it would be a lot quicker to connect it all up.
