Indeed :)
There's your proof that that eejit who tried to do a hatchet job on your loan pair of cubes last year was talking complete, utter bollocks.

Also shows the bass extension of acoustic suspension, obviously at the expense of efficiency.

Final tweaks to the crossover have been done, by parallel connecting a 1uF cap across the 5.6uF to give 6.6uF.
Things have, as they say, snapped into place.
Now the whole thing has to come apart for preparing, sealing and veneering the cabinets. But that's it for this week as I'm teaching tomorrow and Friday.

Job finished:

A bit grainy as it's my iPad camera in artificial light, but the waxed oak veneer looks very nice indeed.

Looks like a fun shoot out developing for Owston, Doc Mods, two different Cressy Semi Omni, Cube2, new Moosey things (a panic desire to get some credibility back  )

Difference for us I couldn't give a toss who wins. You should note that a really high ceiling interferes with the semi omni, I found this out at Scalford and at Tonbridge Audio jumble. How high is the ceiling in the room you use.

The ceiling at Owston is about 8 feet.

Looks fine then, both Scalford and Tonbridge were about 15 ft.

Steve, do you remember those 3 way speakers to the left of that photo ?

Or anyone else ?

Yes, they were some expensive concrete enclosure speakers. Haven't seen them since.

Alexander Acoustics concrete speakers. I think they vanished about 4 years ago. IIRC they were using the popular 8in Volt with a 5in Morel midbass pulling midrange duties. 'can't remember what the tweeter was; I think it was one of Scan's models.

Must be 5 or6 years ago.. I remember the speakers well but can't remember who brought them...
Nice pic of me drinking tea....
The tube manual is quite like a telephone book. The number of it perfect. It is useful to make it possible to speak with a girl. But we can't see her beautiful face from the telephone number

Here is a better pic of the flattys, resplendent in their waxed, oak veneered, Sunday best; this time taken when it's actually light outside
