They wouldn't have looked out of place at Eggborough, Witham or Owsters.

And clothed:
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

That's an improvement - how deep were they? I'm not going to say they look like ... nope...at first foto anyway.

About 10" deep, I'd say:

Well you would wouldn't you!
Did you ever get a listen of those B&W speakers with the 12 inch bass box and electrostatic top piece? I've often wondered how good or bad they were.

Dalquists were very musical, like a lot of the Yank stuff we heard little of it to our loss because of the Flat Earth brain wash. Early Snell, Allison, lots just ignored.

Last time I heard them was over 40 years ago. I remember them being thick uninformative and surprisingly reticent in the treble, dull in fact. Not a good electrostatic unit. Bass was typical big, that era paper cone sound. Overdamped and not rigid cab was probably the big problem. Throw away all the wool and steel plate

Hi Pre,
To be honest, that is the only explanation I can think of.
They apparently sing with valves though.....

I seem to think our Dave (DTB) had a pair of modern LS3/5A, but I can't remember what he thought of them.
PS. And Andrew I ?

Well pre, I put on "Massive Attack - Phat Planet" last night and the bass slam through me against the far wall and staved 3 of my ribs in.
