Look good to me, although the flush grills might be nice. One thought Steve. Not grill related, and some people put it into the 'not my problem' category, but FWIW: the bottom edges & veneer looks like it may be a little vulnerable to accidental clattering with the hoover, caught by a misplaced foot or whatever. No reflection, that applies to all floorstanders, but with the metronome shape, it may be more suseptible. So you might want to ponder possible ways to protect those edges slightly.

Yes I was talking to our Ant last week about that problem. We are still trying to work out how to make some sort of protector for the legs formed by the arches. The problem that keeps hitting us is that damned bi directional slope.

I was thinking of saying sod the lean in, just put an inch thick L shaped hardwood shoe under each leg, just to finish of the bases of the arches and provide a hard wearing "foot" for each bottom corner. Then just hand profile the things, whilst avoiding the veneer.
It'll mean that the arches will need to be truncated by the same amount to keep the openings the right size, but that inch of hardwood will, as you have suggested, protect the veneer from kicks and hoover crashes. It is these little details that make or break a product. The things could become very tatty, very quickly, without that little bit of protection, and if you are doing the artisan gig, the things have to be of quality and built to last. That's the challenge.

Maybe a set of orange foam penguin feet at the front would do the trick.

How about a flat topped pyramid grille, so the entire speaker is covered down to below the front driver?

OK, barring the silliness, I think this looks better.

Top grilles have been ditched and the front looks a lot more integrated now it is not competing with the featureless top, and it emphasises the cabinet taper, removing the dumpy look.

The next iteration of the cabinets will have the top driver, rear mounted and a round grille inset, with the front wedge grille also inset to keep, surfaces continuous with no steps.
