There are Mundorfs that some praise highly, but myself I'd probably go for something like this

Hi Cressy Snr

I have really enjoyed your thread on the birth/construction of the OmniMets and would like to register my interest in your speakers when your up and running with a production model with a view to buy.

I run a set of Doc mods allison 6's and love the sound of this type of design for me this much more preferencial than having it fired at me from a central point i look forward to following your adventures and wish you every success with your venture.

Steve, just curious how the 300B OTL build is going? Worth a thread of its own?

It's not mine so I'm not going to put anything on the forum about it at the moment.
I may put some pics and commentary up when it is done and tested and I know it works.
I have a bad history with OTLs.
I'm not tempting fate.

The two power amps are done and I'm going to start the filament supply box tomorrow.
Don't want to be picking 50ft ash and sycamore trees out of the house tomorrow

Yeah, I saw that weather warning. We're on the top of a hill and have a dead tree quite close to the end wall of the apartment (where the Metronomes are) which is going to get the full force of that westerly.

But - said end wall is about 1.5' thick so even if the tree falls I don't think we'll have a problem. The building is 17th century Grade II listed, so it's seen some wind in its time.

Yes our house has been blasted every year. Those two trees absorb the impact and do a good job keeping the full wind force away. There used to be a third sycamore and that was huge, at least 60ft. A neighbour over the back moved in and did nothing but whinge and whine about light and leaves in his gutter in Autumn, until the owner of said hundred year old tree relented and had it taken down.
As soon as it was gone, we knew certainly about it. The force of the wind allowed through to our properties, was increased a lot.

Have now got the 18mm ply for the second set of cabinets.
I'll get these underway this weekend and should have them done by next Friday.

These will be identical to the existing OmniMets and for my own personal use.
That throws the existing ones spare, which makes them item one of three, of the beta testing setup
I hope to have running by the summer (yeah right, maybe the middle of autumn)

I am sorry but bollocks to what other people think. You need to trust your own ears and judgement, you have the experience, you know what you are doing. Just make the bloody things available for sale on this and other forums, I will give you a room to promote them on HFS as long as you direct sell, and put them up on eBay. If you allow for a return rate of 50% and set your costings as such, that you may have 2nd stock marked returns for good prices you will find you will still sell at exceptional value without the slurpers taking their slurp - what ever you do don't let the likes of MCRU talk you into selling them for you.

Just have confidence and go for it, bugger all the delays. I am sure you will get very low return rates.

I have a, I suppose you could call it a philosophy, I design and build for myself, I like it!! if others agree I have a artisan fun company and make some money, if they don't I earn my living doing something else and just appreciate my hifi myself.

Finally after around 12 years, we have somewhere nice to house the source components of the system:
Image

Must say, the IKEA BESTÅ TV unit, customised with drawers for bits and bobs, looks nice with our Ant's remagined Lenco atop it.
The OmniMets look well with it too. WAF in spades, has always been the aim with my speaker designs, if you forget the hideous looking open baffles with active bass amps, I flirted with a few years ago; let's just put those out of our minds shall we?

The WAF combined with top quality sound problem has been cracked.
It's taken 11 years but it can be done.
