Yep that's where the name came from. The fact that they looked like Metronomes.

Now if Linn made them, no doubt they'd be called the "Obelisk"
has a nice ring to it that one.

Or MetroKnome - given enough time, they kan find a way to kreate or modify spelling to get a "K" in anything

Have your big mets been up to naughtiness? They seem to have had a baby.
The world looks so different after learning science. For example, trees are made of air, primarily. When they are burned, they go back to air, and in their flaming heat is released the flaming heat of the Sun which was bound in to convert air into tree.

Not yet Richard.

I haven't got round to it yet as I've been trying to improve the digital
front-end of the system after Sunday 20th November at Owston, by building a linear regulated PSU for the Squeeze Box.

I suppose it's a sign of how good these speakers are sounding now, that I
don't feel that inclined to fiddle with them at the moment.

If they sound right to your ears in the room they're going to be used in; that's what counts :)

Well, IMHO, they sounded good in the room at Owston to my ears as well.

They sounded good to me too, i could do with bass like they had...but in that room with that system they were a little bright for me.
I suspect my taste in presentation would sound dull and lack sparkle to many.
Its just personal taste. And there's no accounting for mine

most peoples' speakers sound shreaky to me also. my particular brand of Tinitus finds an extra resonance at a particular high frequency which other people seem to like and for me it is disturbing, almost pain. so my systems would probably sound dull to them but I can relax and enjoy the music.

and yet real life where all trebble is natural there are no ill effects. I can only conclude there are artifacts which don't bother others that are best avoided for me.

I know fostex have come a long way since vsac and that most here are fans, but apart from the 108 most carry these artifacts as do Lowthers.
