I had a salvation turntable here on loan for a while with the teres motor, a lovely piece of kit. Wasnt sure about the little lifting device that pulled the pulley away from the platter.

I had my issues with the deck itsself ( a very early one with a vt42 bearing and acrylic platter) but the motor and psu were very good.

The one i used had a machined alloy baseplate that the motor pod was bolted to, lifting a lever turned a cam that tilted the motor away from the platter.

That bit may have been something that vic had made specifically for the salvation

Yes, it looks like a Vic thing - nifty I just pull the pod away from the platter after using. Main thing is to remember - that could happen with either method though !
